I knew it wouldn't be long before Boreas dug a hole. The allure of digging is just too great. Especially in us Malamutes!

And it's not like he's digging a tunnel to the other side of the world. He just likes to dig little holes. Well, okay, maybe some of them are a bit bigger than little. But most of them are little holes.

And it's actually his Mother's fault that he digs these little holes everywhere. She can hear voles under the turf and topsoil. So she digs and catches them. A very good skill actually. But Boreas doesn't quite grasp the whole concept, yet. He just thinks it's fun to dig all these little holes everywhere. Especially when it is muddy. So he comes in the house looking like he stepped in brown paint.

And leaving muddy footprints everywhere.

Human Mommy has a place where she wants us to dig. She said that she'd like all the old bushes dug up. But where's the fun in that?? Digging where she wants us to - digging up plants that she wants us to dig up.

Just not as much fun as trying to get away with a hole hidden away in the yard somewhere! Or maybe digging up the same bush three or four times! It's a good thing Human Mommy has stout plants in the yard!
